We provide a wide array of programs, services, and initiatives all aimed at helping youth and adults achieve education and economic success, secure healthy and affordable housing and develop leadership skills to transform their lives and community. We provide vital career and education services to Cypress Hills’ residents, helping them develop and reach their educational and employment goals.

We help young adults and high school students in the community to apply to and enter college, and succeed once they get there.

  • College STEPS (individual counseling, group workshops, SAT prep classes, and college trips to high school students)

  • College Persistence Program (academic counseling, summer preparation programs, and group workshops about financial literacy, resume writing, and job readiness for current college students)

  • Student Success Center (college access counseling)

  • Community Schools (multi-faceted school-based resources for students and their families) 

  • Cesiah Toro Mullane Scholarship Fund (scholarship for two college-bound seniors)

  • Affordable Housing Development (investment against displacement)

  • Manufacturing Development (development of safe and sustainable spaces)

  • East New York BASE (Basement Apartments Safe for Everyone, low- or no-cost loans to renovate basements into livable and affordable apartment)

The Cypress Hills East New York Community Center is a space where residents can receive our services such as workforce development training, adult education courses, and college counseling, and SNAP application assistance. We also offer music and arts programming for youth, and fitness activities for community members of all ages. 

We provide youth with fun, safe recreational activities, help them reach their educational and employment goals and develop as active community members.

We are committed to empowering residents of all ages as leaders in the issues that impact their lives. We offer organizing services for local students, tenants and issues impacting the community.

  • Rezone Organizing (advocacy for both safe and affordable housing, displacement protections, living-wage jobs and better services for our community

  • ​​Future of Tomorrow (student peer mediation; professional development for teachers in restorative justice; and working with school safety agents to implement youth development practices)

  • Cease and Desist Campaign (advocating for the end of predatory house-flipping in Cypress Hills/East New York)
